British Academy of Jewellery

We have been conducting stage 1 interviews  over video call, and this has been going well so far. 

Additional Information

Offering Level 3 diploma in Jewellery design and manufacturer two days per week (includes design, theory, manufacturing) need GCSE maths and English grade 4+. Also offer apprenticeship lasting about 18 months.

 

We are also offering virtual tour and chat appointments to have more in depth discussions and give a tour of the campus. These can be booked by calling or emailing us. 

Crackerjack

The centre is open to students that are completing and for interviews, one interview at a time in a half an hour time slot.

Referral Situation

Crackerjack can receive online referrals from colleagues who have young people they are working with who would like to find out more working with children.

Additional Information

We will ask them to send a CV and have them as a pipeline starter, or pipeline interview for an Apprenticeship at the selected nursery, once the nurseries are open to external people.

Current Course Delivery

Academies are currently open for staff, learners as well as clients. Current learners full time courses are delivered via a mixture of practical days within the academy as well as virtual learning via zoom and one file.

Referral Situation

Applicants will need to complete our online application form found on our website once you have selected the course option interested in – https://www.hoet.co.uk/ . Please ensure all applicants fill out the application forms in as much detail as possible selecting what course they are interested in. The member of staff responsible for that subject area will pick up the application and then make contact with the candidate to discuss options and arrange for interview. For full time hairdressing, beauty therapy and sports related referrals telephone referrals can be done through contacting Jacqui Duggan on 07841604088.

Additional Information

We currently have places available on our full time hairdressing, beauty therapy and sports academy programmes for 16-18 year olds. Please contact Jacqui if you have any interested candidates. We will also look at scheduling in taster/trial days during half terms in line with COVID guidance. Once dates are agreed I will share this with the careers service.

Offering online mentoring, online qualifications- including Sport Leaders level 1 and 2 as well as financial support for external online quals. Due to the many of young people who engage in one or more of our 13 sport sessions a week (pre-Covid) we are also able to offer wellbeing calls, online employability workshops and interactive live chats via instagram as well as sport quizzes and other interactive activities and challenges via our social media. We will also be launching some social action online campaigns around kindness and awareness of Covid information. We are able to provide online support  through delivering online Dance and Fitness sessions from home. This platform will help to keep young people engaged, positive and active whilst being in isolation. More importantly, reminding young people that practise is key right now, taking the time to help them become prepared for when things return back to normal.
