Writing Your CV

Your CV should include your relevant work experience and personal skills. This can include school work experience, holiday/part-time jobs and volunteering. Highlight skills you have gained from your work experience as well as those you’ve developed through your interests both in school and in your spare time. You can ask a member of staff at school or a family friend to be a reference. Make sure you ask their permission before you give anyone as a reference and remember to tell them they might be contacted.

Volunteering

Other ways to build your employability skills include volunteering. Volunteering means working without getting paid, usually for a good cause like a charity or community group. It’s a really useful way to gain some new skills, meet people and build confidence.  You can find out more about volunteering and opportunities in Birmingham through the Do-it Website: doit.life/volunteer

Please be aware for some employment and volunteering opportunities you will need to be 18.
