Career Planning Calendar if you have an EHCP

You can use this calendar to keep on track with important dates and deadlines.

Autumn Term

 

Meet the Birmingham Careers Service adviser/careers adviser in school to
discuss your ideas for the future. Careers action plan is completed (this is the
students voice).

Year 10 onwards – find out about school, academy and college open days/evenings and attend these.www.birminghamcareersservice.co.uk/open-days/


Applications to colleges should be sent off now


Annual reviews to support students preference forms and future choices start
taking place. Careers action plans to be submitted with the review paperwork.

Spring Term

Applications for apprenticeships and jobs starting in the summer should be made as early as possible in the spring term

Search and register for apprenticeships at https://www.gov.uk/applyapprenticeship

Keep checking regularly as new apprenticeships appear all the time.

Attend college interviews and assessments.

If you need support, speak to your Birmingham Careers Service Adviser/Careers Adviser.

Accept any offers that you are genuinely interested in attending in September.

Year 11 and 14 – SENAR will confirm which school/college place they have agreed to fund.

Summer Term

End of Year 10/start of year 11. Complete SENAR preference form stating
which college etc. you would like to attend (in order of preference).


Keep checking regularly as new apprenticeships appear all the time.


Attend enrolment and taster days.
