Full-time course enrolment for 16-18-year-olds (new students)
Main enrolment for 16-18-year-olds is scheduled to take place between Thursday 22nd and Wednesday 28th August.
Please note: It is very important that you attend the enrolment slot that you are invited to, as there are limited places on full-time courses.
If you do not come in to enrol on your allocated date, your course place may be at risk.
Under exceptional circumstances, the college may have a few late enrolment appointments available on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th August and Tuesday 3rd to Thursday 5th September, but applicants will need to request to book these by exception.
How to enrol on your course:
Offer holders: Between 1 and 15 August you will receive an email with your joining instructions, which will give you essential information to help you enrol successfully, including:
- The subject you have applied for and been offered a place to study
- The date, day and time of your enrolment
- Where to come to enrol
- You will also be reminded to upload a photo for your student ID card if you have not already done this.
Different courses enrol on different days so in the first instance please don’t panic if a friend has received their enrolment email and you haven’t – you may just be enrolling on a different day. If you haven’t received your enrolment invitation email by Friday 16th August, please email info@wcg.ac.uk with your name, chosen college and course, to let us know.
Enrolment on the day:
On the day you come in to enrol, you need to bring with you the following:
- A form of identification such as your National Insurance Number card/letter, or a passport
- Your qualification results – it could be a GCSE results slip or perhaps some certificates
- Any paperwork that might be helpful if you are likely to be requesting financial support for things like transport costs or kit/equipment costs – this could be wage slips, universal credit paperwork etc.
When you come in to enrol, enrolment staff will check your results against the entry requirements for the course, and if all is well, your enrolment will be completed in just a few minutes. You’ll be given your start date and basic timetable and then will be free to leave.
If there’s an issue with your entry grades, the enrolment team will ask a member of teaching staff to chat with you to discuss your options, and if a satisfactory alternative is found, you’ll be able to enrol on that straight away. If we can’t find you an alternative that you’d like to study, then you can talk to college Careers Advisers for some impartial advice on what else you could do.
New Applicants: Applications for September 2024 are still open, apply for your course through the website.
